高校生の頃、コザの飲食店でバイトしていて、

だいたいバイトの終わる頃の、

夜１２時ぐらいによくかかっていた曲。

メロディからして、甘いラブソングだと当時は思っていましたよ。

歌詞を読むと、幸せのかげろうを追いかけて、消耗した女性の話です。



人が憧れて、実現したらいいな、と思う、華やかな世界。

それはかげろう。

家庭や周囲の平凡な人間関係で退屈してたまらない。

何か自分が輝く、自由な世界があるはずよ。

雑誌やテレビのセレブとか見て、妄想してみたりする。

しかし、華やかな世界、自由な世界に、

一度、身を置いた者しかわからない。

虚構の世界で自分を見失ってしまった過去。



そんな疲れて孤独になった女性が、

日常の平凡さに不満を持つ女性に過去の自分を見て、

真摯に語りかける。

そんなメロディとはかけ離れた歌詞なんですね。


人間がめざす頂上にあるもの、それはかげろう。

得たいと思ったものはそこにはない。

ないどころか、そこに身を置くなら、かえって自分さえも見失ってしまう。

この女性は、平凡な家庭が当たり前にあることが本当は幸せじゃない？

と自分の経験を通して、諭しているようだ。

自分を大切にしてくれる周囲のやさしい人たちにもうんざりして、

どこかに幸せがあると思い込んで、自由を求めて、そこを離れて行く。


ほんと、人間は自分勝手なんですよ。
